During March 2011, the BC (British Columbia) Ministry of Attorney General and Mediate BC Society are sponsoring an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) pilot project to test new tools for resolving disputes. To do this testing, they are looking for real people with real disputes. Participants will get to try ODR for free. The sponsors want to hear how it works for you!
I am acting as case manager and online mediator for this pilot.
How do you take advantage of this opportunity?
You may qualify for this opportunity if you and the other party (that you are in dispute with):
- Are based in British Columbia
- Are currently involved in a low-value civil (non-family) dispute; e.g., business-2-business or business-2-customer dispute
- Are both willing to voluntarily participate in ODR
- Are both willing to provide feedback about your experience; e.g., complete a short survey
- Are willing to complete your portion of the dispute resolution process by March 31, 2011
Yes, there are a few other terms of conditions connected to participation. They are not onerous. A key constraint to participation is our ability to process potential cases, given this is a small project, with limited resources.
